Suzette’s Story

Suzette is 19 and transgender. Growing up, parts of her identity were minimised at home, leaving her searching for acceptance in unsafe places. After experiencing abuse, she came to Barnardo’s OMS, where over two years she has rebuilt her confidence and begun to understand her experiences.

OMS has partnered with Popla Media to produce a series of short films inspired by the real experiences of young people who use our services. We believe meaningful change begins with truly understanding what young people have been through.
