Suzette’s Story

Suzette is 19 years old and identifies as transgender. She lives with her mum and younger brother. Her father is absent from her life. Growing up, Suzette often felt misunderstood at home, with parts of her identity minimised or ignored. Looking for acceptance and connection, she began spending time with adults and in places that were not always safe.

After experiencing past abuse and family difficulties, Suzette came to the OMS service, where she has been supported over the last two years to better understand her experiences and rebuild her confidence.
