Pushing forward is a new report from Jahnine Davis and Listen Up that sheds light on the issue of adultification in child safeguarding. Adultification - where a child is perceived to be older than they actually are - significantly impacts some of the most marginalised and vulnerable groups in our society, particularly Black children and those from lesser-heard backgrounds.

For many children, particularly those from marginalised communities, this kind of representation is all too rare in the books they read. Popup Nation is a new series of children’s books dedicated to telling the stories of children who are often left out of mainstream narratives, those who are marginalised or in some way hidden from society.
